07 Feb A 90th birthday afternoon tea party
On Saturday, 3rd February, I had the pleasure of hosting an afternoon tea party for a lovely ladies 90th birthday.
Doreen chose to celebrate her birthday with a large party at the Bruntcliffe Road Working Men’s Club, where around 100 guests came to enjoy an afternoon tea.
For the occasion we chose a menu of sandwiches, scones and cakes, all served with tea and coffee.
We set up the tables with vintage tea cups, saucers and plates as well as cake stands, cake plates and glass jars filled with flowers.
Everyone tucked into the food and myself and my two willing helpers (aka my wonderful parents who really helped me out!) became busy serving tea and coffee, extra sandwiches and scones.
The menu was fairly straightforward, but big on flavour. I wanted to make a range of cakes so that there was something for everyone – lemon curd, victoria sponge, chocolate fudge, coffee & walnut, carrot cake and orange drizzle. Everyone seemed to enjoy a slice!
It was an absolute pleasure hosting an afternoon tea birthday party for Doreen and her family. There was such a buzz about the venue and it was great to see people really enjoying themselves.
The staff at Bruntcliffe Club were also really helpful, making sure we had all we needed and even helping with the washing up! If you’re looking for a party venue in Morley, why not give them a call?
Also if you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate a special occasion or for birthday party catering, why not get in touch to discuss your requirements.
